Practice changing dance moves on the capital letter words below to reinforce the timing of your choreogrpahy:

Remember your number on the number line!
Practice at home SINGING while you move. Use the Spoonful of Sugar Rehearsal tracks, both with and without vocals when rehearsing
Please spend extra time practicing the part of the song after the cake is passed down the line.

HOMEWORK:

The show is looking really good! Thank you for your energy! When practicing at home, please keep your faces forward the entire time when you are incorporating singing with movement! This is especially important to remember when traveling across the stage. If you are an actor with lines, please remember that you should be speaking LOUDLY and SLOWLY! We want to hear your words!

Remember to think of each number as an entire song that KEEPS GOING. You have to think ahead to what comes next. For example: after criss-cross & turn around, remember to peek around your partner right away!

MUSIC HOMEWORK:

Great work on music, cast! We need to keep this pace up! I want to hear reports from Ms. Lena that you are SINGING while DANCING when I’m not around! You all are doing such amazing work!

Supers: totally memorize "Jolly Holiday" - remember your Part 1 (Gabe, Betty, Caroline L, Elizabeth H, Grace N, Hannah, Emmeline, Campbell, Anna W, Maliya) and Part 2 (Cory, Charlie, Ruby, Rachel N, Julia, Rachel G, Caroline S, Leah, Anderson, Claire S) at the end! Same goes for Supercala - memorized!

Steppers: totally memorize "Step In Time/Playoff"! Remember your Part 1 & 2 division for the opening section and the four soloists - Salomé, Emma L, Charlotte, Kieya. Please have all lyrics of "Precision and Order Part 1 & 2" memorized so we can jump in on harmonies together on Saturday!

All Cast: At this point, "Prologue", "Let’s Go Fly a Kite", "Supercala Bows" should all be solidly memorized. The sooner you can confidently sing the better! If you ever need help or a reminder of what part you are singing - ask me to review harmonies with you!

Looking Ahead: We will be focusing more energy to learn "Anything Can Happen" on Saturday. At measure 45: remember George, Robertson Ay, Michaels, Steppers are GROUP 2 & Winifred, Brill, Janes, Supers are GROUP 1 - feel free to look ahead at it - we are ONLY doing "Anything Can Happen (Finale)".

CHOREOGRAPHY/STAGING HOMEWORK:

“Step in Time” and “Supercala” are completely staged! Please practice singing it with full energy AND moving with full energy! Thank you to everyone spending time outside of class listening to the music and reviewing the choreography videos, it makes a big difference! Keep up the good work!

Be sure you are checking this Cast Resource Page, listen to the tracks, remember which part you sing when things split into harmonies!, you are expected to memorize any song (music and lyrics) we work on in rehearsal time by the next time we see you!

CHOREOGRAPHY/STAGING HOMEWORK:

We have such a short time to put together this show and therefore my expectation is that every scene and song that we work on in rehearsal is memorized by the next time we see it. Please practice dancing and singing at the same time, it takes SO much energy and focus! I saw some really nice, BIG choices this week, particularly in the prologue- keep up the good work!

Each student needs to practice with the tracks to get very familiar with the music on their own time. Don't forget we are aiming for British accent while singing!
Let's Go Fly a Kite: review your 3 parts from measure 25-end of song
- Top Part (down the octave is ok!), Middle Part or Bottom Part
- Please reach out if you don’t remember your part!
Ensemble - please listen to and familiarize yourselves with the following tracks:
- "Supers" (see cast list) - “Supercala” and “Jolly Holiday”
- "Steppers" (see cast list) - “Step In Time” and “Precision and Order”
Each student with a script must have a pencil and be diligent about making changes and taking notes in their scripts.
Memorization is going to be the hardest part, memorize lyrics starting now!

CHOREOGRAPHY/STAGING HOMEWORK:

Please review what side of the stage you enter and exit from, this is the side you will always be walking up or down the stairs to enter and exit the stage the ENTIRE show!:

Prologue: When you turn to face the front on the 'dings', your pose should have your head facing away from front so that it can snap to front on the word "WIND'S"
Practice moving using your WHOLE bodies during "windy" parts of Prologue. I want LEVELS (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH)
Be comfortable singing AND DOING the choreography you learned this week by next weeks rehearsal!
